The Best Skin Care Routine

It’s important that you are always taking care of your skin - even if you’re rushing in the morning or super tired at night, your skin needs to be protected and optimally looked after 24 hours a day with the right day and night creams.

PROTECTION AND SKIN CARE AROUND THE CLOCK

Every day is different and has its own rhythm but one thing that should be constant is your skin care routine. During the day, your skin needs protecting from environmental influences such as sun exposure and harsh weather conditions. By contrast, your skin at night needs support as it regenerates. Day and night cream tailored to your personal skin type ensures you will have healthy skin and a radiant complexion.

Day Cream = Protection

During the day, your facial skin needs moisture to prevent drying out and protection for external influences:
  • Apply your day cream in the morning after cleansing your face. Your day cream hydrates the skin and works like a protective shield against environmental influences.
  • Day creams with antioxidants neutralise free radicals and protect the skin’s cells from oxidative stress.
  • Are you outside a lot during the day? Then use a day cream with a sun protection factor. It protects your skin from the sun and prevents ageing caused by sunlight.
  • Tinted day creams, such as NIVEA UV Face BB Cream, leave your complexion looking particularly fresh and smooth.

Night Cream = Regeneration

At night, cell regeneration is running at full speed and your skin is particularly receptive to moisturising ingredients:
  • Night cream contains nourishing ingredients and is particularly rich, because when we go to bed our skin gets to work. When we’re asleep, various hormones (amongst other things) are distributed, which are responsible for regenerating the cells.
  • After cleansing thoroughly, apply night cream, such as NIVEA Hydrating Night Cream to your face and neck. Night cream is usually richer and helps the skin’s natural regeneration process.
  • In contrast to day creams, night creams do not contain a sun protection factor as you aren't experiencing UVA/UVB rays to a damaging extent.

DAY AND NIGHT CREAM: BEAUTIFUL SKIN ON YOUR WHOLE FACE

For all-round skin care, you need more than a day and a night cream. This is because the skin around your eyes is particularly thin and sensitive. A rich eye cream with a lot of moisture helps to prevent fine lines and wrinkles.

PROTECTION WITH EYE CREAM

Your facial skin is protected around the clock with a day and a night cream suitable for your skin type. But the sensitive skin around your eyes needs an extra dose of attention. Use eye creams with ingredients like Q10 OR Hyaluronic Acid - such as NIVEA Q10 Anti-wrinkle Eye Cream.

GET SOME BEAUTY SLEEP

Make the time you spend in bed your beauty sleep and treat yourself to 7 or 8 hours a night. You will sleep better if you have eaten your evening meal and your last coffee was up to 2-3 hours prior to going to bed. Take care with air from the heating – it dries out your skin!

DAY AND NIGHT CREAM: TAILORED TO YOUR SKIN’S NEEDS

The key to success lies not only in the ingredients but also in the different consistency of day, night and eye creams. The right day cream is light, absorbs quickly and gives the complexion a matte look. This is why it is the perfect base for make-up. By contrast, a night cream is richer and more viscous. It remains on the skin for longer and thus works throughout the night. The sensitive eye area is moisturised with a light texture.

Always read the label. Follow the directions for use.
