Vitamin E

Vitamin E is an antioxidant that neutralises free radicals while providing a level of protection against negative external influences like the sun's harmful UV rays. Free radicals damage collagen and cause skin dryness, fine lines and wrinkles. Vitamin E helps protect and repair the skin by keeping it hydrated and moisturised, resulting in it being less vulnerable to sun damage

UVA UVB Filters

UVA UVB Filters

Sunscreen protects your skin against damage caused by exposure to UV rays by means of UVA and UVB filters that absorb and reflect harmful UV light. When you apply sunscreen, the UV filters form a thin, protective barrier on the surface of your skin and essentially absorb the harmful UV radiation before it penetrates and damages your skin.

How much Sunscreen to apply?

Many Australians apply too little sunscreen before heading outdoors. Knowing how to apply sunscreen is crucial for ensuring your skin is properly protected to help prevent sun damage.

  • Firstly make sure you apply your sunscreen 20 minutes before going into the sun.
  • Secondly, use approximately 7 NIVEA measuring spoons or 35ml for a full body application to adequately protect your body from sun damage.

Remember to reapply sunscreen lotion every two hours, and immediately after sweating, swimming and towel drying off.

*7 NIVEA teaspoon/35ml recommended for an average adult
